What does an Architect do?

A question that led to me creating this blog!  Take a look around the Career section of my blog and you will start to see that Architect do A LOT.  This can be different for a lot of people; some Architect’s work on huge projects with a design team for months, while others (like myself) work in a smaller firm on various different types of projects. We design buildings, design interiors, and project manage.  We are the client’s right-hand-man guiding him or her though their project.

How Much Does an Architect Make?

So, I’m not going to speak about salary here (sorry!)  But I will say, like most professions, it just varies.  I do recommend aspiring Architects research their worth in order to be fully prepared for any salary negotiations or for their starting salary at their first job.

What States are You Licensed In?

Currently Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Alabama.  And soon to be Kentucky!

How Long Did it Take You to Become Licensed?

I became licensed about 5 years after college (I was 28) and I went to a 5 year accredited Architecture School before that.  See my post about taking your ARE’s!
